Took a trip through Smith St. during the Bastille Day celebration.

Saw this on my way home from dinner. I could only find this info on it. They were there “to protest the appearance of IHH terrorist Ahmet Faruk Unsal; Viva Palestina organizer Kevin Ovenden; and filmmaker Iara Lee at a gathering in Brooklyn tonight at 7 PM at the House of the Lord Church, 415 Atlantic Avenue between Bond and Nevins Street.”
I protest that church having a big parking lot I can’t use.
I previously noticed Stan’s was being renovated – now it’s Rothschilds? Stan’s website says to watch out for the reopening this week. Hoping Stan can afford to renovate the website as well. (i.e. see website title “stanspalce”)

Popping up right next to their current spot, Donna Da Vine is opening Da Vine Provisions the second week in May. [via Brooklyn Based]
Apparently, Oprah gives Da Vine the thumbs up so they’ll probably be retiring to the Hamptons soon and selling the place to some old man from Williamsburg.
The Brooklyn Paper reports that if you’re looking for $20 sex, don’t go to Butler and Nevins.
