I had previously asked what’s up at 282 Atlantic Ave (none of you were any help!). Strolling by today, finally saw some new signage. Looks like “two 8 two” will be opening in March and they’ll have “burgers • fries • beers”.

Restaurant Ever Coming to 282 Atlantic Ave?
Anyone know the story with 282 Atlantic Ave? The notice below says there was a public meeting April 7 – i.e. a while ago. According to the NY Department of State site, Lions 95 may own a Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx.

New Deli at Atlantic and Nevins (Shawarma: yes, Beer: no)
The former Ace Liquors storefront finally reopened on Friday as a deli – saving us east-enders a run up to Bond Street for potato chips, toilet paper, or cigarettes. They don’t sell beer and the message wasn’t clear if they plan to. Nevertheless, I look forward to becoming a frequent visitor. Rumor has it their shawarma is good.

Bistro-style Pardes coming to 497 Atlantic Ave
We noticed during lunch today that the Thai restaurant at 497 Atlantic Ave is gone! It’s being replaced by Pardes. The chef, Moishe E. Wendel, called it a Bistro and a “place to get a burger and beer”. I hear it might be Kosher as well. I’ll have to brush up on my kosher beers.

Ex-Ace Liquors not a Pharmacy but a Deli? [Atlantic Ave]
In a strange twist, considering the copious amounts of newly installed “Pharmacy” signs, it looks Ace Liquors is going to be a deli. I only see three refrigerators in the back, which makes me fear the worst: No beer!

Blue Marble’s Atlantic Ave Store is Closing

To make the ending of summer even less sweet, Blue Marble is closing, leaving another hole in the Atlantic Ave storefronts. Us residents are now left wondering if the void will ever be filled and when it is filled, will it just be a god-damned dentist office or car insurance place? We need food!
p.s. How the hell did they grab a storefront for $1750 a month?

Stan’s Place Reopens as Rothschild’s [Atlantic Ave.]
The newer, browner interior. The upstairs, which used to seat diners, is now a lounge with some couches. The skylight has been painted brown so no more natural light.
